What is the Midtown Achievement Program? Print E-mail

The Midtown Achievement Program (MAP) consists of classes, sports, and individual advising.

Academic classes in Math, English, and Science supplement what students learn in school and help them prepare for the high school entrance exam.

An additional Character Development class promotes personal growth in human virtues such as courage, respect, self-discipline and responsibility.

Saturday Chess, Academic Contests, and Sports activities help the boys learn to interact with others their age and cultivate intellectual and athletic skills.

Additionally, all students are assigned an advisor with whom they meet once a week to discuss academic and personal goals. The essential element in advising is friendship with the student. Through the student-advisor friendship that develops from weekly meetings, the student gains confidence, a positive attitude and the motivation to succeed
