For high school boys entering 9th-12th grade. Midtown reaches out to the academically average student who needs the motivation to boost their grades and increase their chances of being accepted into college. The program's goal is to prepare each student for successfully entering college. The program has two sessions: an evening school year program and a summer program.
Program Details:
Each student is paired with a mentor who meets weekly with the student to help him set goals. Also, the student is paired with a tutor who will provide academic support and motivation for the student. During the course of the school year, students will also attend cultural field trips to places such as the National College Fair at Navy Pier, paintball games, and weekend college visits.
High School students attend Midtown because they are focused on their future. They want to improve their grades, prepare for college, and be a part of an environment that promotes hard honest work and positive reinforcement on their day to day decisions. Many of the high schools students have commented on the safety of the center, great friendships they develop, and improvement they have found in their personal lives after attending Midtown.
